Night fishing with kyr-Christos

The island of Mykonos has become famous around the world for its nightlife, glamorous parties and amazing clubs. For the locals however, the dusk marks the beginning of a different night adventure.

Night fishing, with the lights of the island in the background, away from the bustle of the clubs, is a magical experience, offering peace and relaxation. It is an integral part of the traditional island life rarely "open" to foreign visitors.

We provide our guests with the opportunity to live this experience as kyr-Christos welcomes them on his boat and as they sail together he lets them in on the secrets of Greek fishing in the Aegean Sea.

The best way to get to know a place and experience its culture is through its flavours.

In an era where we are bombarded daily with thousands of food pictures, recipes and tastes from all over the world, we have chosen to offer a culinary adventure which is also a historic flashback in the dining culture of Mykonos.

Our Food Blogger may have no idea what Instagram is, but she has extensive experience in traditional tastes and the flavours of the Aegean. Kyra-Vaggelio lives in the village of Agios Lazaros, a traditional settlement just a few minutes away from the hotel.

She welcomes the hotel guests in her kitchen, where around the family table they work together to roll out fyllo pastry sheets to make a pie.
The authentic raw ingredients play the leading part in a scenery based on the love for authentic tastes.

Visit the wood-fired oven of mr. Nikos

In addition to the breakfast basket we prepare for each of our rooms, we encourage our guests to visit the unique, oldest wood-fired oven on the isle of Mykonos.

Mr. Nikos Vamvakouris offers a warm welcome to our guests in the historic bakery “Gioras”, located at Lakka of Chora and initiates them to the foundation of the authentic Greek tastes, the home-made bread.

The bakery has been in operation since the 17th century and is one of the best kept secrets of the Aegean.

By going down three stair steps and upon entering the historic building one is about to live a genuine experience, an experience that is not recorded in any tourist guide of Mykonos.

Visit the open air green market of Chora

Τhe island of Mykonos is renowned for its high end market, which includes many of the leading, world famous fashion brands.

Nevertheless, we take our guests to the open air green market of Chora which opens every morning at 07:00 and we encourage them to pick among the fresh vegetables and the authentic raw produce. In this way they can come closer to the everyday life of the locals.

After our stroll through the market, we take the pleasure to cook using the ingredients our guests have selected and serve them a menu based on the choices.

For us, Mykonos remains a place with a tradition, history and Greek flavours unchanged in time, as they were passed on to us from our grandfathers and grandmothers.
